Overview

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Lore App (the "Service"), a platform that lets you rank, track, review, and share the movies and TV shows you watch. The Service is operated by Lore App ("we," "us," or "our"), based in Ontario, Canada.

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an Account or use the Service.

If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your province or territory of residence, you may use the Service only with the consent and involvement of a parent or legal guardian who has read and agrees to be bound by these Terms on your behalf. That parent or guardian is responsible for your use of the Service, including any Content you post and any Subscription or other purchase made through your Account. By using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 13 and that, if you are a minor, your parent or guardian has provided this consent.

The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without the required parental consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at asatimov15@gmail.com.

Definitions

• "Account" — the profile you register to access the Service.
• "Content" — anything you create, upload, or share through the Service, including rankings, ratings, lists, reviews, comments, and profile information.
• "Third-Party Content" — film and television metadata, artwork, descriptions, and other material supplied by third parties or other users.
• "Service" — the Lore App application, website, and related features.

Your Account

To use most features you must create an Account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your Account and for keeping your login credentials confidential. Notify us promptly at asatimov15@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your Account.

You may not share your Account, create an Account using another person’s identity, or maintain more than one Account in a way intended to abuse the Service.

Licence to Use the Service

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service, except where such restriction is prohibited by law.

We (and our licensors) retain all rights, title, and interest in the Service that are not expressly granted to you.

Your Content

You own the Content you create. By posting or sharing Content through the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute that Content for the purpose of operating, providing, and improving the Service — for example, showing your reviews and lists to other users, and featuring them within the app.

You represent that you have the rights necessary to post your Content and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights or violate any law. You are solely responsible for your Content.

We are not obligated to monitor Content, but we may review, remove, or restrict access to any Content that we believe violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable, at our discretion and without prior notice.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• post Content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, obscene, or infringing;
• impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation;
• upload viruses, malware, or any harmful code;
• scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Service except as expressly permitted;
• interfere with or disrupt the Service, its servers, or its security;
• attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, system, or data;
• use the Service for any commercial purpose not authorized by us; or
• reproduce, distribute, or publicly perform copyrighted films or television programs. The Service is a tool for tracking and discussing what you watch — it does not host, stream, or provide access to copyrighted video content.

Third-Party Content and Services

The Service displays metadata, artwork, and information about films and television shows that may be supplied by third-party sources or other users. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or availability of Third-Party Content. Any links to external services (such as streaming providers) are provided for convenience only, and we are not responsible for those services.

Beta Service

The Service is currently offered as a free beta (pre-release) version. During the beta period:

• The Service is provided free of charge, and the subscription and payment terms in Section 9 do not yet apply. We will notify users before any paid features launch, and continued use after that point will be subject to those terms.
• The Service is still in development and may be unstable, incomplete, or contain errors. Features may change, be added, or be removed at any time without notice.
• We may reset, modify, or delete data, including your Content, during the beta, and we do not guarantee that data created during the beta will be preserved. You are responsible for keeping your own copies of anything important to you.
• We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the beta, in whole or in part, at any time.

Subscriptions and Payments

The following terms will apply once paid features are made available. They do not apply during the free beta described in Section 8.

Certain features are available through a paid subscription (the "Subscription").

• Billing. By purchasing a Subscription, you authorize us (or the applicable app store) to charge the fee for the plan you select on a recurring basis.
• Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can manage or cancel through your Account settings or through the app store where you purchased.
• App store purchases. If you buy through the Apple App Store or Google Play, that platform’s payment terms and refund policies also apply, and they — not we — process your payment.
• Price changes. We may change Subscription prices. We will give you reasonable advance notice, and changes will apply to the next billing period.
• Refunds. Because Subscriptions are sold and processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, refunds are handled by the applicable app store in accordance with its own refund policy, not by us. To request a refund, you must contact Apple or Google directly through the platform where you purchased (for example, Apple’s "Report a Problem" page or Google Play’s order history), and any refund is granted at that platform’s discretion and subject to its terms. Except as required by law or as expressly granted by the applicable app store, payments are non-refundable and there are no refunds or credits for partially used billing periods. Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable rights you have under applicable Canadian consumer protection law.
• Cancellation. You may cancel your Subscription at any time through your app store account settings. Cancellation stops future renewals; you will retain access to paid features until the end of the current billing period, after which the Subscription will not renew.
• Taxes. Fees are exclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise, and you are responsible for any such taxes.

Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, logos, and trademarks, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited licence in Section 4, these Terms do not grant you any rights to our intellectual property.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lore App and its officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) CAD $100.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lore App from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.

Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your Account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including Content licences you granted, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification — will survive.

Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. You agree that the courts located in Ontario will have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms, subject to any non-waivable rights you have to bring proceedings in your home jurisdiction under applicable consumer protection law.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service or by other reasonable means before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
